Civil Engineering forum - “F.O.R.C.E” organized WORLD WATER DAY on 22 nd March 2016. To create awareness about water scarcity, students of civil department held a walkathon - “WALK FOR WATER”- from the campus till Nadupadav, which was lead by Mr. Ayyappa Masagi who is known as “WATER GANDHI”. This was followed by a seminar on “RAIN WATER HARVASTING TECHNIQUES” by Mr. Ayyappa Masagi. Events like technical quiz, sketching, collage making, ocean in bottle etc were conducted. Students of Civil department performed a skit based on theme on “SAVE WATER SAVE LIFE”.
"Engineers' Day" was celebrated on 15 th September to commemorate the birthday of the legendary engineer Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. The office bearers of A.C.C.E graced the occasion by garlanding the portrait of Sir M. Visvesvaraya. This year the National Council of the Institution has selected the theme as “Engineering Challenges for Knowledge Era”. The department of Civil Engineering and Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (A.C.C.E) organized seminar for Engineering as well as Diploma students. Er. Vijayan Ujwal D’Souza was the resource person accompanied by office bearers of A.C.C.E.
Civil Engineering students of diploma had organized a project exhibition. Office bearers of A.C.C.E and Dr. Rajesh Gratian D’Souza, Head of the Civil Department, PACE visited the venue and appreciated the students’ efforts to organize the exhibition.
As a part of the Student Enablement Programme, FORCE (Fraternity Of Rising Civil Engineers) conducted a workshop on sweet home 3D, an interior design software application on 26/10/2015. Sweet home 3D is freeware open source software which renders 3D model in a simple and efficient way, when compared to commercially available software in the market. The workshop was organised for engineering students of VII and V semester by the final year students of civil engineering department. Dr. R G D’Souza, head of civil department encouraged and guided the student community about the workshop.
The well organized workshop was appreciated by all the faculty members and also received many positive reviews.
