Department of Mathematics

Mathematics is the queen of all sciences. We can neither know things correctly nor can have practical utility of computation unless we have the knowledge of Engineering Mathematics. Since Mathematics has cultural and disciplinary values, it occupies an important place in curriculum and in society also.

Mathematics has the potential to make a significant impact to the advancement of science and engineering. The Engineering Mathematics has wide applications and skills applicable to multidisciplinary technology in a balanced, integrated Engineering curriculum.

Department of Mathematics has well qualified and experienced staff members. The department is recognized as one of its research centres by VTU. The department educates both undergraduate and postgraduate students in Mathematics based on the needs of various disciplines.

In this era of emerging technologies and advanced sciences, developed nations are focusing on applied research by using knowledge linkages between scientists, engineers and researchers. Mathematics forms the backbone for knowledge development not only for scientists but also for engineers. Our focus is to produce engineers equipped with modern mathematics tools with strong understanding towards real world and engineering problems.

Message from HOD

Welcome to the Department of Mathematics, the center of Mathematics research and education at P.A College of engineering established since its inception in 2000.

Our faculties are instrumental in transforming the art of Mathematics into an invaluable tool for solving problems arising in engineering. The department has been proactively training engineering students to have strong Mathematical background so as to enhance and apply their skills to find solutions to their field specific problems

The Department has five faculty members and two research scholars. The Department is committed to excellence in Mathematics by having a VTU recognized research centre programs for meeting scientific and technological challenges faced by the fast paced, science-oriented world of the 21st century. Two candidates completed their research from this research centre. We aim at producing highly skillful and knowledgeable graduates for pursuing careers with academia, industry and government.
