A Report on Spoken Tutorial on ADVANCED C

PACE, Mangalore. Department of Computer Science and Engineering, organized one day workshop on ADVANCED C on 16th October 201 . PACE is a RESOURCE centre of Spoken Tutorial. The Spoken Tutorial project is the initiative of the Talk to a Teacher activity of the National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (ICT), launched by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development, Government of India. The Spoken Tutorial initiative is developed by IIT Bombay.
The objective of this event is to enable the students of computer science and engineering with the advanced concept of programming with C using audio-video demonstration and practical experimentations. This workshop will help support students to acquire a command on state-of-the-art Programming which will be helpful for their future.
The event was coordinated by staff co-ordinators Prof.SK Jamil Ahmed and Prof. Abdul Majeed K.M of Dept. of CSE. The Inauguration of the workshop held at 09:15 AM, function was presided by our honourable principal Dr. Abdul Sharief, he emphasised on imparting such training to non IT branches, Other dignitaries present on the occasion are, Vice Principal Dr.Ramis MK, Director (Academics) Prof. Surfaraz Hasim J, Dean (Research) Dr. Zahid Ansari, HOD (CSE) Dr. Sharmila Kumari, HOD (E&C) Dr.Abdur Rahman and SPoC Spoken Tutorial IIT Bombay, Prof. Ahmed Rimaz Faizabadi. .
The key-note was delivered by Dr. Zahid Ansari; he precisely describes the importance of Algorithmic thinking and Programming and called the student for applying the knowledge leveraged to build quality software. Prof. Ahmed Rimaz; led the Concept Building session by giving an overall idea of installing and using gcc and other tools, to design and implement program using C, The spoken tutorials with hands on is done in afternoon session, it is found that student have shown great interest and solved the assignments, and feedback was overwhelming.
