A Report on Spoken Tutorial on ADVANCED C++

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, PACE , Mangalore organized a one day Spoken Tutorial workshop on "ADVANCED C++". PACE is a RESOURCE centre of Spoken Tutorial.  The Spoken Tutorial project is the initiative of the "Talk to a Teacher" activity of the National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (ICT), launched by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development, Government of India. The Spoken Tutorial initiative is developed by IIT Bombay.

The objective of this event is to enable the students of Computer Science and Engineering with the advanced concept of programming with C++ using audio-video demonstration and practical experimentations. This workshop supports the students to acquire a command on state-of-the-art Object Oriented Programming paradigm which will be helpful for their placement activities. This event will also fulfil the requirement of bridge course as recommended by the VTU, Belagavi.

The Inauguration of the workshop held at 9:00 AM on 19th FEB 2018, function was presided by our honourable principal Dr. Abdul Sharief, he emphasised on imparting such training to non IT branches, Dr. Abdul Rahman , HOD (EC) noted that the people having technical knowledge often finds it difficult to communicate in English. Other dignitaries present on the occasion are  Dr. Sharmila Kumari ,HOD (CSE), and SPoC Spoken Tutorial, IIT Bombay Prof. Ahmed Rimaz Faizabadi. The entire workshop was coordinated by  Prof.  Sakeena, Prof.  Jamil Ahmed and Prof. Abinas V, of Dept. of CSE. All the faculty members and all students of 4th semester CSE were present.

The key-note was delivered by Prof. Ahmed Rimaz Faizabadi; he precisely described the importance of Object Oriented Programming using C++ and called the student for applying the knowledge leveraged to build quality software.  The spoken tutorial on ADVANCED C++ was conducted with hands on, it is found that student shown enthusiasm and active role in the entire workshop and solved the assignments, and feedback was overwhelming.
