Python Programming Workshop

A python programming workshop was conducted by Department of CSE. P A College of Engineering, Mangalore under ASCII [Association of Computer Science Innovative Intellectuals] Group, PACE and GLUG PACE community on 18-03-2019. This initiative was taken by the students and for the students on a purpose to spread knowledge and develop new skills. Special thanks to all the CSE faculty members who gave the opportunity to conduct such healthy event which directs in improving students skills and knowledge. Mr. Nikhil Amin, 8th Semester CSE [President of ASCII, PACE] was the speaker for this Python Programming workshop. Students from 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th year CSE and EC attended this workshop. Overall strength of participants was 40 students. In this workshop, basics of Python Programming Language were taught.
Topics covered are as follows:
• Introduction to Python
• Variables, Expressions & Statements
• Functions
• Conditional Execution
• Iterations
• List
• Tuples
• Dictionary
Along with these topics, standard way of programming, error reading and debugging were also explained. Due to lack of time, it was decided to complete List, Tuples and Dictionary topics in the next workshop session. At the end of the session, students were told to write basic programs in Python Language.
